WestMass Brass to Perform at South Hadley Library June 11

Bring a blanket, lawn chair, picnic dinner and come enjoy the sounds of the WestMass Brass Ensemble at the South Hadley Public Library, 2 Canal Street on Saturday, June 11 at 5:30 pm. The concert is free of charge and is co-sponsored by Music and Arts South Hadley and the South Hadley Falls Neighborhood Association.

The band, founded two years ago by Ken McCance of Montague, is comprised of 25 professional and amateur musicians from throughout the Pioneer Valley who volunteer their time and talent. The band’s diverse repertoire ranges from popular to classical selections. Featured selections for the upcoming concert include Chuck Mangione’s Children of Sanchez, Petit Suite De Ballet by Eric Ball, a medley of Disney tunes, John Williams’ Hymn to the Fallen, and Images for Brass by Stephen Bulla.

The mission of the band is to perpetuate the British style brass band.  Instrumentation includes cornet, flugelhorn, alto horn, trombone, euphonium, tuba and percussion. The band performs five concerts annually throughout the valley. This will be the third time the group has performed in South Hadley.

For further information about this concert or the ensemble please call 413-219-5577.
